'Joseph Decuis...one of six restaurants in the country to be named a Certified Humane restaurant'

Quoting from Cindy Larson's Restaurant Notes:

"Actually, the designation is for the Joseph Decuis Farm, Restaurant and Culinarium. Specifically, Joseph Decuis is recognized as a producer of Certified Humane Raised and Handled Wagyu beef, beef products and eggs, which are used at the restaurant and culinarium (the commercial kitchen used to prepare food for sale outside the restaurant).

The program requires the humane treatment of farm animals from birth through slaughter. Alice and Pete Eshelman, who own the restaurant, farm and culinarium, raise Wagyu beef on a farm near Roanoke."
