FFI: 'Aquaculture, time to plug hole left by decreased wild catch'

Quoting from the article by Rijuta Dey in the September issue of the Intrafish Fish Farming International:

"The U.S. aquaculture industry nees to focus on sustainable production and consolidate itself like other protein sectors such as chicken, the country's largest yellow perch producer told FFI, adding that the country's insatiable demand for healthy protein should increasingly be met by domestic players.

'I see the demand for healthy seafood raised in a sustainable manner increasing in the near future,' said Norman McCowan, president of Bell Aquaculture, a yellow perch-producing company that recently invested $5 million to expand its production facility in Albny Indiana, and plans to raise 20 million yellow perch by 2016.'"
