How Donations Help Cat Care Care Society Shelter Cats Waiting For Their Forever Homes

Cat Care Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, operates a privately funded shelter near 6th and Sheridan in the Denver area and relies exclusively on charitable donations to carry out its shelter programs and community outreach. Here's how funds can help the Cat Care Society cats waiting for their forever homes:

$15,000 provides 6 months’ worth of medicines for our clinic

$10,000 covers the cost of operating our Temporary Care Program for a full year, serving cats of 50 families temporarily made homeless due to foreclosure, fire, or personal misfortune – we’re ready to reach out to any cat “mom” or “dad” in need of temporary care, esp. due to recent fires

$5,000 feeds 60 cats for 9 months

$2,500 provides carrying cases, collars, tags, and starter toys for all cats adopted into their forever homes from our shelter for 1 year

$1,000 provides complete care for 30 kittens, including shots, spaying/neutering, microchips, food, and litter

$500 provides medical care for a senior cat (10+ years) for a year

$250 buys two month’s worth of cat litter for the shelter

$100 provides antibiotics for two sick cats for 2 weeks

One-time donations or recurring donations may be made online at ColoradoGives.org

Pet Place: 'Painted felines begin parade through city'

Quoting from Saturday's Pet Place:

"Every year, the Cat Care Society, Lakewood's cat shelter and welfare organization, rolls out a pride of artist-painted felines who then go on a royal procession throughout Denver. They'll make a stop at Fascination St. Fine Art in Cherry Creek North Thursday (use the 2727 E. Third Ave. entrance). It's a $10 donation to the shelter for admission (and they'd like you to RSVP at catcaresociety.org; scroll down and you'll see the link)."

Note: the Painted Cat pictured is last year's Little Roar -- he was won in the live auction last year for a bid of $3,000. This year we've already had our first $3,000 Painted Cat... Green Eyed Lady, won as a 'Buy It Now' prize at the Advanced Bidding Site: BidOnACat.blogspot.com

Mile High Life: 'Painted Cats charity event'

Quoting from Penny Parker's June 12th 'Our Colorado News' column:

"The Cat Care Society debuted its 'Tails of the Painted Cats' summer tour in May, but it runs through July 11 and the fundraiser concludes with a July 20 gala event and auction at Pinehurst Country Club in southwest Denver.

The painted cats were designed and painted by various Denver-area artists and cat lovers. Douglas M. Tisdale (the honorable mayor of Cherry Hills Village) will serve as auctioneer and my favorite weatherman, Channel 4's Ed Greene, will be emcee at the event."
